Saturday 20th June see's members of The Rally Team together with Members of North East Derbyshire RAYNET providing operators and equipment for the 2nd Ashgate Midsummer Night Walk.2008 saw a little over 1300 ladies walking the 14 mile route from Dronfield to Ashgate Hospice and back to the starting point. 2009 see's almost 1400 ladies walking the same route to raise money for Ashgate Hospice. (News else where on the web site regarding web site address's) We wish them well. All went well at the Ashgate Midsummer Night Walk on Saturday 20th June till around 6am Sunday 21st June. Members Steve g6ibq,Jenny m3rgg,Neil 2e0une,Liz 2e0zil and Bernard m3iyu together with Dave an swl tirelessly gave there efforts throughout the night. The walk Organisers and North east Derbyshire RAYNET thanked us and hope to see us again next year needless to say I accepted their invitation.
Saturday 27th June see's the Rally Team using there group call-sign of M0OCT at the Old Whittington Carnival near Chesterfield where we shall be operating an HF Station as well as VHF & UHF.We shall also be running our Fund Raising here as well with our "Lucky 73's"
Friday 10th July, we have been asked to provide a Demonstration at a Local High School/Grammar School as part of there "activities day". We hope to be "On Air" using our Group Call-sign of M0OCT from - 08-30hrs till around 1500hrs bst(3pm) that day. Listen out for us on as many Bands as possible from Top band to UHF.
Sunday 19th July and Saturday 15th August See's us at Cutthorpe Carnival on the 19th July and on the 15th August we will be at Barlow Carnival. Both these villages are just North West Of Chesterfield. At both Carnival's we will be Running our "Lucky 73's" fund raising stall with only Cutthorpe having the opportunity of HF & VHF, UHF demonstration.
The "lucky 73's" stall is to raise funds for equipment for our RAE Course's. More New's on the web site regarding RAE Training Courses.
As well as our Rally held on Saturday October 10th our other large scale event is the HF and All Bands week-end to be held over the Week-end of Saturday 25th July till Sunday 26th July on an hill top near Chesterfield at 1000ft ASL. We are hoping to gain 1000 contact's in 24 hours at 1000ft above sea level! We will also have access to IRLP node 5821 and Echolink Node 71210 over the week-end. There is Camping available and some Caravan space but numbers are strictly limited.
